Awards 2021

With the support of the Argentine Embassy in Germany and Interflugs, the student audiovisual department of the Berlin University of the Arts, eight Ibero-American filmmakers were selected for the second UGBB edition of the to share an intensive experience of creation, reflection and exchange.

The jury, made up of Fernando Eimbcke (Temporada de patos, Lake Tahoe, Club Sandwich), Annette Scholz (ALCINE) and Rouven Rech (ToreroFilm), awarded the screenplay "The blue of the air", by Georgina Pretto.

"It is a text in which the author, through the resources of cinematographic writing, explores in a poetic way uprootedness and loneliness. The strength and beauty of the text makes us believe that this script will become a beautiful short film," said the jury.

Georgina received production mentoring from Catalina Florez (Soilfilms), as well as support for the making of the short film in Berlin through the collaboration with Interflugs.

The shooting of the short film is scheduled for March-April 2022.
